These terms set out the agreement between you and ButtonPreferred when you browse our store or place an order. By using this site, you accept them.

1. About these terms
This site is operated by ButtonPreferred, a luxury African fashion maison based in Lagos, Nigeria. By accessing the store, creating an account or placing an order, you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy.
2. Eligibility and accounts
You must be at least 18 years old to purchase from us. You are responsible for keeping your account credentials confidential and for all activity that takes place under your account. Please tell us immediately if you suspect unauthorised use.
3. Products and presentation
Our garments are hand-finished, and many use hand-loomed or naturally dyed fabrics. Small variations in colour, weave, beadwork and finish are characteristic of the craft and are not defects. Screen settings may also affect how colours appear.
4. Orders and acceptance
Your order is an offer to buy. A contract is formed only when we confirm dispatch, or begin production in the case of made-to-order pieces. We may decline or cancel an order where an item is out of stock, a price or description error has occurred, or we suspect fraud. If we cancel, we refund you in full.
5. Ready-to-wear and made-to-order
- Ready-to-wear — dispatched from stock, typically within 1–3 working days.
- Made-to-order — produced for you in our Lagos atelier, typically within 7–14 working days before dispatch.
Made-to-order pieces are cut to the measurements and specifications you supply. Please check them carefully — we cannot remake a garment free of charge where the measurements provided were incorrect.
6. Pricing, currency and taxes
Prices are shown in the currency displayed at checkout and may change without notice, though changes never affect an order already confirmed. Import duties, customs charges and local taxes may apply on international deliveries and are the responsibility of the recipient unless stated otherwise at checkout.
7. Payment
Payment is taken at checkout through our secure payment providers. We do not store your full card details. Your order will not be produced or dispatched until payment has cleared.
8. Delivery and returns
Delivery timelines, carriers and charges are set out in our Shipping Policy. Your rights to return or exchange a piece are set out in our Returns & Refunds Policy, which includes a 3-day window from delivery.
9. Intellectual property
All designs, photography, text, logos and other content on this site belong to ButtonPreferred or our licensors. You may not copy, reproduce, resell or reuse them commercially without our written permission.
10. Acceptable use
You agree not to misuse the store — including attempting to gain unauthorised access, scraping our catalogue, interfering with the site's operation, or submitting unlawful, misleading or abusive content in reviews or enquiries.
11. Liability
Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence or for fraud. Subject to that, our total liability in connection with an order is limited to the amount you paid for that order, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss.
12. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, and disputes are subject to the courts of Lagos State. Consumers in the UK, USA and Canada retain any mandatory protections available to them under their local law.
